Georgia Development Authority relies on CDS to relocate all network infrastructure and technology with little downtime.
For 12 years Georgia Development Authority has relied on Capital Data Service, Inc. (CDS) to manage information technology infrastructure and maintain network uptime and security. David Skinner, executive Director of Georgia Development Authority, secured a new facility located in Monroe, GA. Part of the process of moving to the new facility involved relocating all network infrastructure and technology with little downtime. This would require work being performed after normal business hours, planning for disaster recovery, transportation of all equipment and reinstallation at the new facility. CDS was contracted to perform the services being required of the move. CDS engineers performed the full system save to ensure full data restoration in case of disaster in transport of the IBM iSeries server, de-installation, transport and re-installation of server and peripherals and also integration of a new Sonicwall Unified Threat Management solution which also involved interfacing with a new ISP for website hosting and secure internet communications via VPN so two remote locations could securely access business critical applications. CDS began the project with Friday afternoon cutoff time and had all network resources installed, tested and performing as required for business operation on the following Monday.
